Hurridam makes it easy.

Evaluation and Measurement

We survey your property and determine what solution is best for you. Floodgates are usually best for residential properties, and perimeter protection is best for commercial applications.

We then measure all openings and determine what is needed to pre-install your barriers.

Pricing

After measurement and evaluation we provide a price quote.

There are a variety of factors that can effect pricing.

  • Number of Opening and sizes. By far this has the biggest effect on pricing. More openings are more expensive. Small openings are much less expensive then large openings (such as garages and sliding glass doors).

  • Stanchion Placement. When creating a chain of multiple floodgates, stanchions need to be pre-installed with a concrete base. The number and placement of stanchions affects price.

  • Base Material: The permeability of the base layer effects price. Brick and pavers are porous (water seeps between the cracks) so a custom solution may be needed to solve for this.

  • Storage: We can store your flood solution off-site and deliver it to you when needed. we charge a monthly fee for storage. Optionally, you can store the solution yourself  and save this fee.

  • Deployment: We charge a fee for each deployment (this includes delivery, installation, post-storm cleaning and teardown, and returning to storage). We can deploy before each storm, or for 'snowbirds' we can deploy once a the beginning of hurricane season and leave the solution in place until the end of the season.

Pre-Installation

A critical step because it makes deployment very rapid. After pre-installation, a floodgate can be installed in under three minutes.

Depending on your needs, we may need to pre-install anchors for your floodgates,  concrete footers for stanchions, wall anchors, or other custom solutions.

Once pre-installation is complete we camouflage everything as much as possible to blend in with your home and landscaping.

Storage and Deployment

An optional service, but one that most of our customers choose.

Our products are made to last (in other words they're big and heavy), so most customers choose to have us store them offsite and then install them as needed.

After the storm, we clean the units and return all pre-installations to pre-storm condition. This includes painting/hiding pre-installed anchors, cleaning all caulk residue, and returning the units to storage.
